Are you feeling under the weather? Do you feel like curling up in bed rather than getting out to the gym or going for a run?
Lots of people feel this way as the days get shorter and the temperatures drop.
Here are 3 tips to get you moving throughout the winter months
- Make it Fun: Grab a few friends and head outside to the local trails. You guys can catch up while your lungs can breathe in all that fresh air. There are also lots of fun winter activities for example Snow Shoeing or maybe try something completely new like Cross Country Skiing!
- Move it Indoors: We can't always blame it on the weather. If you tend to only exercise in good weather, you can move indoors. Try a Community Yoga class to learn some more poses that you can incorporate into your home practice to heat up the body from within when the weather is cold.
- Prioritize it: Have it written in your calendar or save it on your phone. Make time for you and for taking care of your body. The body craves movement, even 10-15 minutes will make a big difference in how you feel.
Most of all, Keep it Simple and Keep it Consistent.
You may need to try a couple of things before you find something you enjoy and like. It is much easier to keep moving when you actually enjoy and like the activity.
